Freedom Redefined
This week is always introspective for me. I continue the birthday gratitude tour with celebrating our Independence Day by defining what freedom looks like now.
The big question: When you’re free of the big worries, what’s next?
My thinking: When major needs (food, health, shelter, love) are fulfilled, the definition of freedom changes. It’s not about pursuing financial or health goals. It’s the freedom from what was useful for a while but no longer serves. What is that thing that was good for a long time but has become intolerable – or even irritating?
So, my goal for this year is to be free from what is no longer fabulous. How do I let go of what’s “OK” enough to take up space so I can make way for what’s next? My approach: thanking the past and changing it up for the future.
On this Independence Day, ask yourself: What do I need to be free of now? The answer will redefine what happens next.
