There’s a shift happening in event marketing that will impact you.

Facing unpredictable market conditions and strained resources, event marketers are looking for cool, inexpensive ways to get in front of customers. And they have set their sights on this: a series of smaller recurring/repeating happenings. (The buzzword: everyday events.)

These smaller meetups create a consistent experience, using a tactic already proven to have good ROI.

Event organizers will want speakers who can create great experiences in intimate settings.

3 Trends Causing the Shift to Everyday Events

According to an event marketing study by event platform company Splash, three trends are causing the shift to smaller recurring events.

• Most events (84%) are geared towards current customers; 41% target prospective customers.

• Event marketing budgets increased, but not enough. While 73% say their budgets went up, economic constraints remain a challenge (#2 on the list of challenges).

• Audiences are more focused. Only 14% say attendance is one of the biggest challenges, but 32% note that finding the right attendees will be a problem this year. The stakes are high: 67% say that attendance is one of the most important metrics for their events.

Event marketers face extreme pressure for their events to succeed while also remaining within or under budget. They’re betting on smaller, recurring events to do that for them. Pitch accordingly.
