Working with Millennial Leaders

While integrating millennials is now considered a commodity, millennials in leadership is ripe for opportunities for many kinds of thought leaders. This Deloitte study of 8,000 “kids” in 30 countries gives us a good snapshot about what this new breed of leaders and how we can engage:
• What I love about these folks: their pure intention. Millennials see their work as a conduit for their impact. They want to contribute to charity. And they expect corporate America to play a big role in solving the world’s problems. (Heads up PR people: This will become a huge branding issue for employers.) Watch for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs to soar under this regime. Many opportunities for marketing, engagement/culture and non-profit thought leaders here.

That said, they still want the best of both worlds: flexibility and stability. Helping these new leaders navigate the upheaval and stay engaged will be name of the game.
These “kids” are ready and willing to step up and be a positive force. They want to influence and contribute. And smart employers will step up and help them.
