How ‘Keeping It Real’ Creates Great Content
Many of my best blog posts start with a passionate rant. (Which is why I ask all of my clients to rant, as well.) This begs the question: How can you use this verbal outpouring in a way that creates great content? Two ideas:
• Use any topic. Most of us stick to our market segment – issues leaders face if we’re a leadership expert or sales situations if we are experts there, etc. Instead, broaden your scope. The human condition is everywhere. Look for what gets your attention in a general sense, and go from there. (Social media is a great place to start.)

• Don’t just gripe. Think about what creates the condition you support. Too many of us go to the dark side. (Guilty as charged.) Instead, look at what you support, and use your rant as a springboard to advocate something positive.
We can use what we are passionate about to create our best ideas—but only when we rant strategically.
