A Great Way to Explain a Complex Subject
Our world now has a lot of moving parts. So, explaining multiple players within a larger group is a great way to appear in the know. This political article from analytical firm FiveThirtyEight is a great example of demystifying complexity by delineating the different factions involved.
Two things we thought leaders can copy:
• Standardize the structure. Notice how every faction has the same categories (economic and identity/cultural). This consistency allows apples-to-apples comparisons and enables readers to skim.
• Name names. One of my favorite parts is the list of players. This allows the readers to visualize the category. Putting a face on the subgroups is very memorable.
