A New Trend In Incentive Meetings You Need to Pay Attention To
Back in the good ol’ days of professional speaking, presentations at incentive meetings were considered working vacations. You would present for a couple of hours and then spend a week in a five-star paradise. A lot has happened since the 90s, so this article on incentive trends caught my attention.
The biggest finding: thanks to organizations “training up” the millennials, professional development is back in the game. But don’t expect typical classroom lectures. Gamification is now part of the program, along with a focus on how the “total award experience” impacts professional development.

My take: professional development is more of a priority. How that happens, however, is in flux. It’s a fantastic opportunity for speakers who have great soft skills and marketing/sales skills. Use this dynamic to open conversations about how you can participate. Don’t lead with the speech. Lead with impact and let the format reveal itself.
