Achieving Goals: The Power of a Heads-up
Whew! Another epic road trip is in the record books. One of the big highlights: Zion National Park. It was also my biggest disappointment.
As an amateur photographer, I couldn’t wait to get those shots of the narrow canyons with the ribbons of light and color. It was my second day there when I got the bad news: The hike required boulder hopping and wading into very cold water. If I had known beforehand, I would’ve brought the equipment needed. The risk to my knees was too great without the proper tools. Mission aborted.
Listen: 2 things to have before you go after your goals
Have you ever been so excited about a goal that you didn’t stop and think about the best way to get it? That’s what happened here. Silly me.
This lesson applies to our business life, too. Every goal involves a journey. And knowing the path before we begin can help us prepare for what’s ahead. A heads-up is the difference between a mere obstacle and a possible disaster.
