Grateful for What I Don’t Have
Between an action-packed summer road trip and a Vegas Christmas, we’re laying low for Thanksgiving. And that gives me plenty of time to ponder what I’m really grateful for.
I’m usually in awe of all the wonderful things I have: the love around me, my environment, and what I accomplished. But this time, I’m grateful for what didn’t happen.
I learned earlier this year that I didn’t have a life-changing disease. I witnessed the miracles that show up when I can’t control a situation. I’ve been surprised by what happens next when all of my looked-great-on-paper plans went awry.
The bullets I’ve dodged this year just blow my mind. And I can’t take credit for anything. It was just miracles and lucky breaks.
So, let’s celebrate our good fortune – not only what happened, but also what didn’t.
Happy Thanksgiving!
