How to Introduce a New Way of Thinking
Many folks showcase their expertise with content marketing: blogs, videos, white papers, etc. The problem: Those tactics are very popular, creating a lot of white noise. It’s getting harder and harder to be heard above that noise.
One way to stand out is to introduce a new way of thinking about what folks already care about.
A great example is this Fast Company article about happiness. Look past the headline and the findings. Look half way down the article where the authors define happiness with six elements instead of one. This one twist that changes how we measure happiness makes all the difference.
Listen: Promote new thinking with these easy tips
Why this works: Changing the criteria creates a comparison that expands our understanding. Key quote: “America’s crisis is, in short, a social crisis, not an economic crisis.” That one finding creates a new way of thinking, a new way to proceed. And that one thing—the journey ahead—is what stands out.
Expanding how you see your life can turn your content from “just another voice” to a leading-edge resource. When you change the comparison, you change the interpretation.
