How to Spot the Next Big Thing
Part of the business growth journey is finding new ways to use your solutions.
It’s tempting to make expansion decisions based on what’s happening with your clients. Fair enough. Looking for opportunities to upsell is just one way. As a recent AP article — Internet, intuition can help businesses spot next big thing — points out, however, social media also can give us a heads-up at 30,000 feet.
Move past the article’s consumer focus. Many small biz owners have to be on the lookout for new clients who may have different needs than their previous/current folks.
My favorite suggestion: Look on Instagram. To apply that idea to our space: How about looking on LinkedIn or Twitter to see what your ideal clients are asking about? Can you use their perspectives as input for your decisions? You betcha.
