How to Use Tools to Attract New Opportunities
As many of you know, I’m a sucker for handy tools. So, a Social Media Today article about Twitter’s branding worksheets got my attention.
No, I didn’t do the worksheets. But the article got me thinking: Would free tools help us highlight our perspective and attract new opportunities? You betcha.
Here are two scenarios when distributing your tools to a broad market make sense:
• If your tools solve problems on the ground. Many of our implementation tools assume folks know our methodology. This strategy works when it’s based on outcome not your process. Ask yourself: Could someone who doesn’t know me use this and try it out within an hour? If so, your material is a good candidate for wide distribution.
• If you are promoting a high-volume item. Keep in mind that this approach will not get you those six-figure projects. The sales process is too complicated for that. The primary purpose here is to introduce yourself and promote a low-cost next step, such as signing up for emails, selling books, or selling online courses.
