How Your Website Changes the Sales Conversation
A client had a great question the other day: How does our website drive sales?
My answer: It doesn’t if you are selling your services for top dollar. Websites done right do change the sales conversation, though.
Here’s how: They take your credibility off the table, so the focus is on the prospect’s specific situation. The conversation goes from “can you really help me?” to “Here’s my situation. How can XXX project help me?” Big difference.
This is why people go to your website before following up on that referral. Or after they read your social media post but before they reach out. Your website answers these unspoken questions: Is this person for real and do I think their approach will work? Nothing happens until those two queries are satisfied.
Listen: How to get folks to self-select your services
Everyone has a website. But the ones that have a solid market strategy will further the buyer’s journey. By the time prospects reach you, the opportunity is yours to lose. And in a crazy-crowded market, that kind of inside edge can be the tipping point.

Vickie Great perspective on websites and truth shared with your post. Wondering if you have any people you recommend for sites. I have made it years without having a viable one and looking for a designer to slap me on the side of head create one. Also, any example of sites you recommend that support the premise in your post? Thanks and keep sharing the knowledge during these interesting times. Norm Hull
