Keep Moving
Being a market strategist means any bit of information about the brain in marketing mode will be exciting to me. This Fast Company article on “action-oriented” marketing got my attention quick.
The twist in thinking here: conventional wisdom says attitude precedes behavior. Social pscyhologists now disagree, saying behavior comes first, then we make up stories to falsely claim that we made a conscious decision.
Think of the implications here. The value proposition — what we thought leaders held so dear — might not be so powerful after all. Maybe it’s the activity — the experience — that creates the stories, not the other way around. This makes the interactive trends, like gaming, a huge priority.
