Launching into 2016
As we gear up for the new year, here are two predictions for 2016:
- Getting attention has become the #1 criteria for thought leadership. (Even journalists are now being evaluated by how popular they are.) Unfortunately, strategies for getting noticed are now going to the extreme. This is why either very bad behavior or very inspirational behavior is now going viral.
- If you want to have an impact, projects trump ideas. Here’s why: ideas are a dime a dozen. We are in the age of “demonstrating” our ideas via projects based on a compelling platform. Example: Humans of New York combined photography and storytelling to personify a bigger message that we are more alike than different.
Happy New Year!
