Make Your Brilliance Real
Many thought leaders know their gifts. They have their calling. The next big question: What do they do with this desire to serve?
A great example of how to be a brilliant pragmatist is covered in this Fast Company article about Seeing Theory, a tool that creates interactive visuals for statistics. Yes, this project isn’t done yet. But you can still take a page from this playbook:
• Be future-focused. Daniel Kunin, who created the Seeing Theory resource, sees a new gap between statistics and the students. Key word: new. So, this tool deals with what’s happening now. Too many of us look at the past and try to solve old problems. Instead, let’s wipe our minds clean and look at upcoming trends and their impact.
Listen: 2 tools that make your brilliance real
• Be the bridge. New students with different skills need different tools. Seeing Theory increases understanding for those with a different skill set. When the players change, new bridges are needed.
Too many of us stay at 30,000 feet. Yes, we all need inspiration. But teaching does only so much. When you turn your brilliance into tools on the ground, you increase your impact.
