More Opportunities From the Digital World
Heads up for a blinding flash of the obvious: online attendance in the conference and convention circuit is growing. But don’t let that stop you from digging deeper into the Digital Event Benchmark Report by Freeman and the Virtual Event Institute. There are some opportunities here for us experts to help with this transition. Some Catch 22s that open doors for us:
- While half of respondents want to make money from online attendance, less than a quarter currently charge registration fees for their online events.
- Almost half (40%) hope to leverage online events but one-third do not have an ongoing marketing strategy that gets the word out about their online content.
The bottom line: there is a movement to go beyond indirect benefits to actually increasing the top line. Marketing campaigns, social media efforts, community building, all sorts of moving parts here. And that begets opportunities for experts who are not techies.
