Reddit: The Secret Weapon for Building Trust in B2B Marketing

In a world where trust is the currency of the realm, building a community of loyal fans isn’t easy. A recent Adobe article highlights a strong alternative to typical B2B platforms: Reddit.
Initially, Reddit was seen as a good place for writers. However, its search engine has skyrocketed in popularity, with an astounding two-thirds of consumers in the United States engaging with it at least once a week. Even more striking, 92% of users consider the results from this platform to be trustworthy.
These statistics highlight a larger trend that B2B marketers need to pay attention to: the rise of engaged communities. Those outside the Reddit discussion threads find the information shared there to be more trustworthy than what is presented by business owners. The primary reason people utilize Reddit’s search engine is that authentic product and service reviews account for 67%.
With only one-third of small business owners using Reddit as a marketing tool, the environment isn’t over-saturated. There’s room to make a difference there.
As you ramp up your marketing efforts this year, look at your environment. Ask yourself: Is the platform I’m using still effective? Are there better places to engage? Chances are, moving to a new platform can be more effective than adjusting tactics on an old one.
