Social Selling: Finding New Opportunities for 2023
With recession fears causing many buyers to hesitate, it’s time to reach out and find new opportunities. Social media is a target-rich environment to do so, which is why sellers use the platforms to pitch prospective buyers. The top social media platform for social selling? LinkedIn, according to a recent study by HubSpot.
The big question now: How do you position your pitch to stand out among all the others? A pivotal start: It’s all about how the buyer discovers you.
2 Creative Social Selling Ideas
Here are a couple creative ideas to connect with prospects on social media:
• Give unexpected help. Too many folks introduce themselves with a self-interested “gift,” such as their white paper or case study. Instead, what if you use social media to research their needs, then suggest SOMEONE ELSE to assist on a challenge we don’t help with? We become a resource first, then a possible partner. This takes rapport building to a whole new level.
• Create ramped-up introductions. After making your list of possible prospects, figure out who your advocates know well. Find out how they know your potential connection, and link that to what the prospect is working on now. Then use that as the basis of the introduction. This specificity between your relationship and their initiatives takes the usual referral conversation to a new level.
