Take Advantage of What’s Next

Let’s close out the month with a little crystal-ball gazing.  IBM’s top scientist gives great 30,000-foot projections of what we can expect from all this big data floating around.

According to this Fast Company article, within five years we can expect to see “benefits” from the data collected about us. Cities, stores we walk into, doctor offices…everything changes based on information they know about us. Almost creepy.

What I also see: lots of opportunities for us thought leaders. All these new innovations will take some getting used to. Not everyone is going to jump on board. And that’s where we come in. For every big change, there are navigators who help us along the journey. There are interpreters that help us understand and use these shifts. There are tools that make the transition easier. That’s our contribution.

Your best step forward: next time you read one of these articles, ask yourself: “What can I do to help this along? What will folks need to make this journey?” Your answers will be the shifts in your own business that will take you to the next level. Onward…
