TED Coming to Corporate America
Greetings from TEDActive in Whistler. Biggest aha from day one: I will not freeze to death here.
Inside TED session was indeed illuminating. What really perked my ears up: TED@, an event-based initiated aimed at taking TED’s mission to corporate America. Last year there were three similar events at big companies, like Intel. The vision: building a story-telling culture within the organization to spread great ideas. Elements include content curation, presentation skills via TED presentation coaches and the videos in the new Ideas in Business library. Five partners in 2015 are set to produce over 100 talks. All are a part of the TED Institute.
Question: what impact will this dynamic have on events in general? On speaker selection? Prediction: This will be the 500-lb gorilla within 5 years (probably sooner). Don’t be surprised. Figure out how to participate, how to differentiate, how to respond. TED is coming to Corporate America and it’s not going away. Count on it.
