Thanks For Your Service
This weekend marks the beginning of summer for a lot of us (here in Phoenix, the arrival of triple-digit temperatures marks the end of Spring). While I enjoy live music and the ocean breeze this Memorial Day weekend, my thoughts are with those who aren’t so fortunate.
I am very clear that my freedom to move around this country is only made possible by folks who put their own lives in danger. They are fighting for my freedom. They are willing to sacrifice their health (both mental and physical) and even life itself. These people are the definition of duty and honor.
The words “thank you for your service” seem so inadequate. That’s why I contribute to The Wounded Warriors Project. This group cleans up the messy business of war by helping service members upon their return. Please join me in this effort. Here’s the link: http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/.
