Gone are the days when you could post your content on social media, and thousands of potential buyers would flock to your website. Now, if you want people to notice your content, you must promote it aggressively. The problem is B2B content marketers are so busy doing other things that they don’t devote enough time to content promotion, a recent survey by Converge found. A whopping 82% said that.
The bad news doesn’t stop there.
Any content that marketers promote gets lost in the flood of other content. Most content marketers lack innovative promotion strategies. So, when everyone posts their content on social media, when social media platforms intentionally suppress posts that contain links to articles, and everyone optimizes their content to the hilt for search engines, producing more content won’t help.
This isn’t going to get better. The tidal wave of content will be bigger next year. Promoting your content is going to get tougher. And just showing up more on social media platforms isn’t going to cut it.
Content marketers must go into guerrilla war mode. Not only do you need to prioritize content amplification, but you must also get innovative. Spend some time on this, or get lost in the shuffle.
