The Engagement Bandwagon
Employee engagement is now one of those issues with a big enough budget for a wide variety of experts. This study from Aberdeen Group last Fall lays out what the leaders do regarding this important issue. Most important findings:
- Engagement is tied to growth. That means engagement has gone from a “feel good” issue to a seat at the strategic table. Probably why half of organizations with an employee engagement budget expect that budget to increase this year.
- Communication is the name of the game here. What’s out: traditional employee surveys. What’s in: frequent, consistent dialogues. Tons of opportunities here for soft skills. Coaches, start your happy dance now.
- Yes, there are plenty of opportunities for process and tech experts. Top priorities here: exit interviews, performance management systems, and employee self-service portals.
Read this research brief and ask yourself: What role can I play here? Again, there’s enough opportunity for a wide variety of experts. (Free registration is required.)
