The Gift of Future Stories
I’m on the road again. This time we’re driving to Las Vegas, where my sports-loving family will eat, drink, and go to a few games.
I’m not a sports fan. Nor am I a gambler. So, I’m not excited because of where I’m going or what I will be doing. I can’t wait to get there because of who I will be hanging out with.
And for me, that’s what the holidays are now. They’re about stepping away from the routine to laugh, take silly photos, and make memories that will become future stories.
Many of us are at that stage of life where gifts have been redefined from what to who. We’ve shifted from that favorite thing we’ve always wanted to those favorite people whose antics makes us chuckle every time we think of them.
May we all get gifts that last a lifetime. Happy holidays!
