Trends in Leadership

Yep, leadership skills are a hot topic today.  What’s trending now:  how to define a great leader, according to this summer research from the Aberdeen Group.

The back story:  if Corporate America can’t find outside talent for their leadership pipeline, they attempt to grow leaders organically.  The challenge cited by almost half (47%) of the 250 companies responding is about the gap between the skills current employees have and the skills needed for the future.  Folks, if your prospects haven’t identified those gaps, they can’t hire solutions you are offering.

Instead of following the herd of consultants to increase employee engagement, why don’t we help our clients define success in a changing market?  If we can help our clients determine what they need, wouldn’t they stick with us for the solution?  This could be a great idea for assessments, games, all sorts of systems.
