When to Pivot Your Perspective
Have you ever had a moment when you stop and think “What the @#$@##! just happened? Things were going so well here.” Yeah, me too.
In pursuit of growing to the next level, many of us come in strong with our opinions. We analyze our situation, figure out what needs to done and then leap into action. Which works great for a while … until it doesn’t.
What if … we misread what’s really going on? What if … our evaluation is wrong?
When we don’t see our environment clearly, we miss our next best steps. The main culprit: The challenge we take on is often a pitstop in a bigger journey. But if we go into action mode too soon, we spend time and effort doing superficial things that work for a while, but not long enough. This is what “hitting a plateau” looks like.

I get a lot of calls from folks who have treaded water for a while. What I find is these brilliant people took off in the wrong direction because their evaluation was off. If you’re working too hard for too little, stop and ask yourself: “What do I know for sure? And what is just my interpretation?”
