Your Best First Step to Implement a New Strategy
After I present my clients with their new brand and platform, the response usually is, “Wow, this is great! Now how do I execute this thing?”
My answer: Slow and steady.
Many folks are tempted to jump in with both feet by doing a grand makeover on their website or sales conversations. They are so excited (or panicked) to get going that the new direction isn’t fully integrated. As a result, the new platform gets implemented with an old mindset. Disaster ensues.

Instead, slow down and digest the new strategy first. Let your mind wander. Then incorporate the new direction into your current practices. Use the new direction first on low-risk sales conversations, blog posts, and upcoming speeches. Practice small to get comfortable, then do the big website makeover. This is how to make a new brand your own.
There’s a common saying in motivational circles about “sharpening your saw” before chopping wood. The same approach works when you implement a new market strategy. Eat this elephant one bite at a time.
